Competence Coaching

A competence is a combination of knowledge, skills and behaviour which someone should meet to be able to fulfil a certain position well. A competence offers a measurement which is noticeable, measurable and open of discussion. By using this measurement you assess the behaviour of the employee and not the person.

It is good to know that behaviour is influenced by standards, values, characteristics, motives, perceptions and convictions. Coaching particularly aims at these invisible mechanisms. The coach makes the employee aware of his/her own behaviour and the impact of this on others.

It already starts at getting 'the right candidate on the right job'. In case you want to be successful you need to measure the candidate's or employee's competencies against the requested competencies of the job profile. Often demotivation and/or frequently short-term absence can be blamed on the under - or overcapacity of the employee.

  • In case of a job opening, Your Coach helps determining the correct competencies for a specific function, linked to your company objectives and company processes;
  • Then it is important to select the right candidate for the right job. Based on the desired competencies, Your Coach selects out of all (external or internal) candidates the best candidate objectively;
  • With the competencies as a measurement the employees can be evaluated. Your Coach gains a clear understanding on which (still) missing competencies the employee can be trained in for the current job or for a future job. Your Coach offers support drawing up and (if desired) implementing a personal development plan (PDP);
  • Teams functions best if the competencies are complementary. Your Coach assists you at creating a correct balance within a team.
