Coaching A coach acts as a sounding board and a sparring partner who supports people wanting to improve their performance in both their professional and personal lives. A coach assists the client to define the real issues that they want to change. They then continue to work with the client to help them to learn new skills, carry out changes and reach their final goals. The responsibility for the learning process remains with the client. After all, if they don't change, nothing will change. Typical qualities of a coach are, for example, being patient and empathic, tolerant, objective, supportive, attentive and having good listening skills.
