Psychosocial Therapy
As a therapist we can be consulted in cases where people no longer have the ability to cope with a certain situation and might suffer from psycho social, psycho somatic and/or well-being problems. We aim at problems which do not yet make people sick but will damage their health. These people generally can no longer perform well at work or in their private life.
A difficult situation can disturb the balance between body, spirit and surroundings. Sometimes a situation is so serious that one becomes stumped and loses the complete overview. Frequently the person doesn't feel good and tension mounts and can lead to feeling of hopelessness.
Psycho social problems can emenate from areas mentioned below or a combination of these areas; - Personal environment; i.e. lack of social or communication skills, lack of self-confidence, uncertainty, fear, psycho somatic symptoms, nervousness, stress, burn-out, midlife-problems, problems being lonely, concentration problems, get over emotions;
- Relational environment; i.e. divorce problems, mourning process, sexuality problems, education problems, family - and relation problems;
- Work climate; i.e. communication problems, team conflicts, culture change problems, reorganisation processes, overload, competitive spirit, lack of motivation, lack of responsibility, absence through illness;
- Society; unemployment problems, problems with feelings of social injustices.
The problems can express themselves by; feelings of fear and/or failure, trapped in conflicts, physical complaints where no medical statement has been found, insomnia, dissatisfaction, continue to get stuck in patterns of old behaviours and old feelings etc.
Expertise of a psycho social therapist is therefore broad and practical. We do not replace a general practitioner or a medical specialist. A client with serious psycho pathological syptoms must be referred to a psychiatrist or a specialised institution of the GGZ.
Your Coach is a member of the Dutch Federation of Health Care (NFG). This is an independent federation which ensures the quality assurances and the open relationship between the psycho social field of action and the remaining professions in the health care industry. Bona fide psychosocial therapists are recognizable to a NFG-licence plate and NFG-licency.
